I am alive- just barely, LOL.

Well spring has sprung here which means that I am outdoors a lot, thus I am suffering serverly from allergies.  I swear I have a love hate relationship with spring.  Sigh.

Anyway, I have a few to share with you.  First I am so excited to be an "official" friend of page-maps.  I have a layout in the April 2011 Page Maps.

And here it is,

Echo Park used here.

And second I did the Sketchy Thursday's layout from LAST week, but didn't link it up.  Oh well, here it is

Used My Little Shoebox on this one.  And it is also being used for the music challenge at ACOT.

And I asked people at Scrapbook Challenges to share their scrappy spaces because mine was such a mess.  I made a card yesterday and destroyed my space.  I AM NOT a card maker.  But I am trying. LOL.

So I have already cleaned it because I want to play today.

Have a great weekend everyone.

35 bringing fun back

Well today is my birthday. I am 35. I know it is silly, but I have had a really hard time with this birthday. I was so happy to finally turn 30, but 35, sheesh. I think it has to do with what was happening when I was turning 30. Now I look back and compare what was going on five years ago and what is going on now. Don't get me wrong, I love my life. I am happy being a stay at home mom and I have a wonderful husband, and a great house- needs work, yes, but great none-the-less. I just feel like I have something somewhere. And I have lately realized what I have lost.

FUN. I have lost fun.

Don't get me wrong, cleaning the house, changing diapers, picking up toys, doing endless laundry, and things like that have their place. They are the chores of life, right? But they can be devoid of fun. So I have decide that this year of my life I am going to bring fun back. Yep, you heard me right. I am going to somehow bring fun back into my life. And here is the page I made to commemorate this event.

Two challenges for this. First the sketch is Sketchy Thursday's. I changed it up a bit, but . . . and second Dixie Pieces has a challenge to celebrate yourself as the birthday girl.

PP and floral border are Webesters Pages. Lace is May Arts. Pearls are Queen and Co. Bling is Zva and rub on is Basic Grey.

a few from the crop- sketchy thursdays and sketches by tamara, acot

Went to a crop this weekend and got a few things done that can be shown now.
First of all, this past week I was chosen as Celebrity Cherry at ACOT. So as part of my status, I had to scraplift someone from the board. Here is what I did.

Also, on ACOT, one of the challenges is to use the word "new". I used the sketch from the Scrap-Room. I am also using it for Sketches {by Tamara} weekly challenge (to use blue, buttons and brads). So here it is,

And lastly, this started out as the Sketchy Thursdays sketch. But since I don't have internet in the crop room, I had to sketch it in my sketch book and well, my proportions are off. Anyway, here it is
Thanks for looking and if you are looking, please leave me a comment. I love to hear from people. Because lately, it seems as if I am the only one looking at these pages.

Our Prom- sketchy thursday's

After doing quite a few dt and gdt layouts, I took yesterday to do one just for fun. ACOT has monthly challenges and the theme challenge is to scrap something formal. So with yesterday's Sketchy Thursday's sketch I scrapped this prom picture of Jon and I.

Please note, that we were not in high school at this prom. I was not a pregnant teenager (no offense to those who may have been). I was a high school teacher and the prom sponsor. Thus I got a free pictures taken. Anyway, here it is,

I stamped the frame with a CTMH border stamp and paint. White scalloped strip is Bazzil. Jewels are Recollections. PP- unknown. Black paper is MM. Journal spot is Basic Grey.

so young- sketchy thursday

So I feel like I am becoming a pack rat. I see things and think, "I can't throw that away, I can use it on a page." I did that with the bag some onions came in. I like the mesh netting and thought it would be perfect. So I stowed it away. Lately I have been cooking up some things to do with it. And I thought,"how cool would it be to cut and then paint over it. The little blocks would look so cool." Well I did that, but then removed it from the cardstock. The paint was too thick. Then I saw that sketch for this weeks Sketchy Thursday and thought the mesh painted would look so neat with this sketch. Then I saw a recipe challenge (paint, staples, and chipbaord) on Sketches! {by tamara} and combined the two. And this is what I got

Now the bag was actually a pinkish red. I added some blue paint and it turned it a fun shade of blue/lavender. But some of red still shows up. The chipboard flower is Basic Grey. Simple layout yes, but I like it.

The journaling is tucked away but reads "when I look at this picture all I can think is how young we look. We really weren't that young. But we weren't married and had no kinds. Life was so different. But I wouldn't trade that for now."

grandma and gracie- sketchy thursdays

Here is a layout I did this weekend. I have tried and tried to get a good picture of it. But with my little camera it just isn't happening. It is much brighter and cleaner is person. Anyway, I used Sketchy Thursday's layout for it. I also layered flowers for the scrap-room weekly challenge.

Nap Time- Sketchy Thursday's

I just found Sketchy Thursday's (that is what I love about blogs, I am finding so many great sketch places via other people's blogs) so this is my first time playing with one of their sketches.

I love this picture of my daughter, my father and my cat. Gracie fell asleep in the car holding the balloons, then I carried her in the house, still holding the balloons. My dad was sleeping, so I laid Gracie down with him, still holding the balloons. The Rita, the cat, joined in.

So for the layout I turned the circles in their sketch and made them into balloons. It is quite a simple page, but I do love the way it turned out. The twine that I used for the balloon strings, came off of some jeans- the tag, LOL.

PP are all Scenic Route. Alphas are Bazzill.
