May Crowned Competition

To coincide with the crowning of the American Idol winner in May, Scrapdango is resurrecting the ever-popular Crowned competition!

The weekly challenges are mandatory. You will get a new challenge every Tuesday. You have until the following Monday at midnight EST to post to the gallery and link your creation in your sign in!

At the end of each round, each DT member will assign a value 0-10 to your creation. These values will not be revealed. Each week we will sash the person that has the favorite creation as voted on by the DT. This person will receive a prize. (You can only win this 1 time during the competition) The only way you can be disqualified is to not complete the challenge within the allotted time.

You can also win points through our weekly games and other surprises! Keep an eye out for them. They will NOT be mandatory!

You'll receive an extra point for each project in which you use a Scrapdango kit.

We will keep track of your points and the person with the most points at the end of the game will be “CROWNED” queen! The queen will take home the big prize to be revealed later!

All creations must be newly created for this competition and your original design. They may not be posted anywhere else other than your personal blog for the duration of the game. All layouts must be traditional paper layouts (no digital) and be 8 1/2 x 11 or 12 x 12. You are welcome to do a single or double layout!

International contestants are welcome, however, if you win any prizes, you will be given a $6 shipping credit. The remainder will be the responsibility of the winner.

So visit the forum at Scrapdango and pop into the sign in thread and get ready to play.

Q&A:
*Can I use a sketch for the challenges? NO...we want these to be your work and your design!

*Can I combine these with other site's challenges? NO...sorry but we're going to ask that these are only for Crowned. You can have them on your blog, but no where else.

OH! And the prize??? It's ONLY a GDT spot with a free kit here at the 'dango! Woot!

two using becky fleck sketches

Hello everyone.  Here are two recent layouts I did using sketches from Becky Fleck and Page Maps.

The first is one I did a few weeks ago for a sketch challenge at A Cherry on Top.  I used Little Yellow Bicycle, Paradise Collection.

Next is a page I did for a challenge over at Scrapdango.  Well not so much a challenge but a game where we each list five things in our stash that do not get used enough and someone challenges us to use one of them.  It is called Make Me Use My Stuff.  And I was challenged to use my Slice.  Well, I finially broke down and got the hands free system for it and now I LOVE my Slice again.   I used the Think Pink card to cut the little pink silhouette.

So why don't  you come over and play the game with us.  I know you have things in your stash that needs to be used again.

Sugar Kit at Scrapdango.

Hey everyone.  Can you believe is it April already?  I can't and 2012 is flying by.  This month I was able to work with the Scrapdango April Sugar kit.  And OMG it is by far my most favorite kit I have ever gotten to play with.  (And I have been subscribing to kits for 4 or 5 years now, so that is saying something.

The April kit is full of Fabulous from Simple Stories.  And the name is right, fabulous it is.  So without me gabbing any longer, here are my pages.

I did a home decor project for my first one.  I found these little wooden frames buried inside a box.  I painted them pink and then dug out some super duper old chipboard alphas and painted them too.  Then I used a sheet of cardstock from the kit and mounted each letter.  I added a sticker from the sticker sheet in the kit on to each letter and tied a piece of twine.  These will go into the downstairs basement this coming week.

Next is my two pager.

Then I have this picture of my family from Thanksgiving.

Lastly, a pict of my youngest daughter.

Thanks for looking and have a great April.  And don't forgot to come back and see what the other designers for you and make sure you order your Sugar kit asap, they are going to go fast.
