May GCT member at A Cherry on Top

Ok I know it is already a week into May, but I have already done a lot.  This past weekend was my Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.  I didn't do the 39.3 miles, BUT I did manage to walk a mere 29 miles, so not bad.  And honestly other than a bruised bid toe I feel GREAT.

Anyway, I digress.  I am here to share some happy news, I was asked to be the guest creative team member at my favorite on-line store, A Cherry on Top.  I got to play with some Jillibean Soup and I am hosting five challenges this month.

Here are my items for my reveal (for the full reveal please click here.

Ana here with my May Spice Kit reveal.  Can I just say how much I LOVE this kit.  I am a HUGE fan of distressing and core'dinations, and this kit came with a distressing tool and dot core'dinations.  So fun.  Another of my favorite things is misting and it came with these super banners that when you mist them they show texture.  So cool.  Oh, and it came with mist.  Awesome.  So here are a few of my layouts and a card.

Ok there you have it.  And remember that the May  Crowned Contest begins today, May 1st.  So if you haven't already stopped by the forum and signed up to play, get over there NOW.

May Crowned Competition

To coincide with the crowning of the American Idol winner in May, Scrapdango is resurrecting the ever-popular Crowned competition!

The weekly challenges are mandatory. You will get a new challenge every Tuesday. You have until the following Monday at midnight EST to post to the gallery and link your creation in your sign in!

At the end of each round, each DT member will assign a value 0-10 to your creation. These values will not be revealed. Each week we will sash the person that has the favorite creation as voted on by the DT. This person will receive a prize. (You can only win this 1 time during the competition) The only way you can be disqualified is to not complete the challenge within the allotted time.

You can also win points through our weekly games and other surprises! Keep an eye out for them. They will NOT be mandatory!

You'll receive an extra point for each project in which you use a Scrapdango kit.

We will keep track of your points and the person with the most points at the end of the game will be “CROWNED” queen! The queen will take home the big prize to be revealed later!

All creations must be newly created for this competition and your original design. They may not be posted anywhere else other than your personal blog for the duration of the game. All layouts must be traditional paper layouts (no digital) and be 8 1/2 x 11 or 12 x 12. You are welcome to do a single or double layout!

International contestants are welcome, however, if you win any prizes, you will be given a $6 shipping credit. The remainder will be the responsibility of the winner.

So visit the forum at Scrapdango and pop into the sign in thread and get ready to play.

Q&A:
*Can I use a sketch for the challenges? NO...we want these to be your work and your design!

*Can I combine these with other site's challenges? NO...sorry but we're going to ask that these are only for Crowned. You can have them on your blog, but no where else.

OH! And the prize??? It's ONLY a GDT spot with a free kit here at the 'dango! Woot!

two using becky fleck sketches

Hello everyone.  Here are two recent layouts I did using sketches from Becky Fleck and Page Maps.

The first is one I did a few weeks ago for a sketch challenge at A Cherry on Top.  I used Little Yellow Bicycle, Paradise Collection.

Next is a page I did for a challenge over at Scrapdango.  Well not so much a challenge but a game where we each list five things in our stash that do not get used enough and someone challenges us to use one of them.  It is called Make Me Use My Stuff.  And I was challenged to use my Slice.  Well, I finially broke down and got the hands free system for it and now I LOVE my Slice again.   I used the Think Pink card to cut the little pink silhouette.

So why don't  you come over and play the game with us.  I know you have things in your stash that needs to be used again.

Sugar Kit at Scrapdango.

Hey everyone.  Can you believe is it April already?  I can't and 2012 is flying by.  This month I was able to work with the Scrapdango April Sugar kit.  And OMG it is by far my most favorite kit I have ever gotten to play with.  (And I have been subscribing to kits for 4 or 5 years now, so that is saying something.

The April kit is full of Fabulous from Simple Stories.  And the name is right, fabulous it is.  So without me gabbing any longer, here are my pages.

I did a home decor project for my first one.  I found these little wooden frames buried inside a box.  I painted them pink and then dug out some super duper old chipboard alphas and painted them too.  Then I used a sheet of cardstock from the kit and mounted each letter.  I added a sticker from the sticker sheet in the kit on to each letter and tied a piece of twine.  These will go into the downstairs basement this coming week.

Next is my two pager.

Then I have this picture of my family from Thanksgiving.

Lastly, a pict of my youngest daughter.

Thanks for looking and have a great April.  And don't forgot to come back and see what the other designers for you and make sure you order your Sugar kit asap, they are going to go fast.

Great News and some two-pagers

I will be joining the Scrapdango kit club design team.  They have a wonderful forum and there will challenges coming soon and the kits are great.  I am so excited.  I took off sometime from all dts and I was ready to jump back in and now I can.  Woo-Hoo.

Anyway, here are some more from this weekend, so long overdue two-pagers.   The first two come from sketches from a big picture scrapbooking.  I took the class-all about doing two pages- a while ago and of course never got to do the pages.

I did the Avon Walk for breast cancer last year.  And I am doing it again.  So if you want to donate to my walk, please click here.

And last week I found the sketch site, sketch support,  they have wonderful sketches and here is a two pager.  I used Peppermint Collection from Crate Paper.

So there you go.   Have a good day.

a few more.

So here are a few more that I have done recently.

Two weeks ago we adopted a 8-9 year old dog named Petey.   He is almost blind- but that does not stop him from walking up 10 steps in the dark every morning to wake me up at 6-6:30.  I used the February sketch at my  creative scrapbook.

this next one used we r memory keepers and I did it for a challenge at acot but didn't get it posted in time.  it is from a page maps sketch

And I found this new challenge site.  Well not sure how new it really is, but it is new to me. It is called Paper Secrets.  I did their sketch challenge for this one and a color challenge at ACOT.

Photobooth fun

Our preschool had our annual auction recently and to make it more of a party and less of a fundraiser we brought in a photobooth.  And it was fun.  So I had to scrap the photo and I don't even a challenge to tie it to.

I used a few different products on here,  prima bling and flowers. glitz paper. cardstock is worldwin papers.   Martha Stewart punch.  And the doilies are misted with black magic glimmer mist.

My Sensory Seeker

My youngest daughter Gracie is a handful.  I have known it forever.  She was not an easy baby, or toddler.  Now I know why.  She has a sensory integration disorder.  She is what they like to call a "sensory seeker."  She craves messes, heights, spinning, etc.  She has a hard time sitting still and likes to flip upside down.  Many people think she a daredevil or a troublemaker or maybe a disruptive little child.  And maybe partly she is, but what we now know is that she can't really help it.  Her brain is wired in a different way.  We are going to be working we a resource teacher and an OT to help make her life a little easier.

As a scrapbooker I like to work though my emotions on a page.  So here is the page I made about all of this.  I wanted to use pictures that really show a side of her and I wanted a lot of room to journal. So it is a two-pager.

I used the yummy Valentine's paper from We R Memory Keepers.

So there you have it.
