Scrapbook Challenges
I am just loving Scrapbook Challenges. The challenges are great. The sketches are great. The community is . . . well great. So check them out. Anyway, here are two layouts based on two of the sketches from that site.
Our New Tradition, was originally for ScrapTiffany's week 25 challenge- to scrap a family tradition. Alas, my hard drive died- well it almost died and we backed up before I lost everything. Anyway, I didn't get it done in time. As for Scrapbook Challenges, it is for sketch 177.
Princess Bella is from sketch 176

Gift Card holder
I needed some gift card holders for Christmas presents. I saw this idea on the ScrapTiffany Blog- who got the idea from Two Peas. So I thought, hey I can do that. So I did.
They are actually paper towel rolls. I plastered the patterned paper on them. Each frame is embossed- which I just learned to do and I LOVE.

Not sure what this means but. . . .
my Fantastical layout has been featured at Scrapbook Challenges. Like I said, I am not sure if it is a big deal or just something that happens every day there- since I am new. But it makes me smile.

This weekend's work
With all the snow and no way to go anywhere, I was able to scrapbook.
This one is for the one word challenge at ACOT and from the sketch at the scrap-room blog. The papers and everything are from one of the kits in the big kit from the scrap-room. In case you don't know they offer monthly subscriptions of scrapbook kits. They are one of my favorites for kits.
This one is for another challenge at ACOT. The papers are all Bo Bunny, as is the rub-on. The sketch is from Stuck?!Sketches. Love that site.

The Great Snow of 2009
It rarely snows in DC. It is a running joke around here about how when it does snow people freak out. Well we got our due. It started snowing nearly 22 hours ago and has yet to really stop. I am loving it but at the same time, I am shocked by the sheer amount of snow that is out there. I did try to take the girls out into it but they both keep falling down and getting stuck.

A few new layouts
Here are a few layouts I have been working on
I actually had a lot of fun with this one. It is for a challenge on ACOT , to use the colors of a candy cane. I mod podge all around the red ripped paper and then sugar coated it. So it has a real glittery look to it.
Here is the Box Room layout- for the sketch challenge at ACOT
And finally this one is from a Pencillines sketch and was the featured sketch from The Everyday Scrapper this past Sunday.

The Kitchen Project
We bought a house in October that had a seriously outdated kitchen. It was basically the original kitchen from when the house was built in 1954. So we had to redo it. It took about 5 weeks or so but it is finally finished. The pictures below show the entire process and what it looks like now.

Christmas Magic
This was a sketch challenge/guest designer contest entry for Back Porch Memories. It is a bit sideways, but my camera charger is MIA and my battery is dead, so . . . had to use the one I had.
The Everyday Scrapper
The Everyday Scrapper is an up and coming scrapbook website/forum. It is a great resource - the website is amazing and has a lot of great tutorials and ideas. The forum is so much fun with a great group of ladies. And I have just joined their team. I am not sure what my exact title will be, but I will have a day where I get to post inspirations, questions and just general stuff. So follow the links and check it out.

Another cute and easy Christmas idea
I just found this super cute idea on the Scrap Tiffany blog. I think I will try this this weekend and let me girls color or paint them. May make a nice little gift for teachers.
A quick and easy Christmas ornament
I was searching the internet for some simply paper craft ornaments. I had an idea of how to do one in my head, but with life as crazy as it is, I thought, "heck I need to find one that is already done and tried." So I searched around and found this. It is exactly what I was looking for.
Now to just find the time to do it.

What a face
The sketch for this layout is from a fabulous site, Stuck?!Sketches. The pp is Cosmo Cricket, the Gretel line. That is for the manufacturers challenge at ACOT . All the pp were scraps that I found as I was searching for other paper for a different layout. I decided to distress the strips and I really love the way it turned out.

The Box Room
We moved last week. But we owned the house for about 6 weeks before we actually moved in. So whenever we brought stuff over, we just stuck it in one of the bedrooms on the main floor. That room has since been dubbed the "Box Room." Here are two pictures of it.
So, yesterday while I had a baby sitter I worked on the room and now you can actually walk in there. Also, I found things that I had been looking for. But I can tell you this, "The Box Room" will be my next scrapbook page.

I did it
Scrapbooked that is. LOL. I tried to yesterday, and I got a little bit done, but neither child napped very well. So this morning I couldn't sleep so I got up and made a Christmas card, then this afternoon while the girls were in preschool I did another card. I also finished the LO I did yesterday but that can't be shared for a while.
The cards, well one of them, is for the monthly card challenge at ACOT. It is to do a Christmas card with a Santa or a snowman as an accent.
So here are my cards
And I have to say that I am totally loving my craftbox, from the Original Scrapbox people. It rocks, and it forces me to clean up when I am done.

My Craftbox
When we lived in the other house, I had a small room all to myself for scrapbooking. It was great, when both girls napped together at the same time. Then Bella stopped napping, or Gracie wouldn't nap at the same time as Bella. Then on the weekends, I would feel guilty for locking myself in my room for hours. So when we bought this place, I decided that I needed a scrapbox, from the original scrapbox people. That way I can work while watching the girls and spending time with my family. When Jonathan saw the price tag he said, "no." After a lot of whining and other behaviors that I don't want to disclose here, he gave in and said yes to the smaller one, the craftbox.
YAY.
So here it is. I still have some stuff to put in it. And I need to move somethings around. But it is for the most part together. Now to find time to use it. (oh and sorry about the poor lighting, not a good spot for pictures. Need to fix that.

Scrap Tiffany
So I took the plunge and applied for some design teams. I haven't made a team yet, but Tiffany at Scrap Tiffany offered me a guest position for the month of April. Check it out, and you will see me.
Our Crops Plus
Our Crops Plus hosts scrapbook weekends for the DC metro area. It is fabulous. I have traveled to a few different places to crop, but this is by far the best. I try to go to as many of them as possible, but I always have issues. Sick kid, sick me etc.
However, a few weeks ago I went and had two GREAT days working. I love the store/message board at A Cherry On Top and they have the best challenges every month. So at my last crop (which was also the last time I get to scrap, due to my move) I worked on a bunch of their challenges.
Here's some of the pages I did.

A new blog
Ok, everyone wants you to have a blog. It is a requirement, so here I am, trying it again. Not sure who will want to read MY blog, as I am that exciting. But whatever. Let's get this party started.
